About Us

Mission Statement:
To help relieve animal pain and suffering by utilizing a multimodal approach in a compassionate manner.

Animal Acupuncture, LLC was founded by Dr. Heather Owen and her husband, Dustin Owen in October of 2008.  It started from a realization that so many pets quality of life could be improved by increasing the access to acupuncture services.  With that passion driving them, Heather left general practice and set off to do in home pet services.  Today, the demand of pet owners in and around Tulsa has helped to expand the practice to offering business hours 4 days a week in addition to house calls.  This is their dream clinic-focusing on the overall wellbeing of animals!

Dr. Heather Owen received her veterinary training from Oklahoma State College of Veterinary Medicine where she graduated in 2001.  She completed a one year internship in small animal medicine and surgery in Loveland, Colorado.  Heather practiced as an emergency and critical care doctor until january 2005 where she entered general practice.  She received her veterinary acupuncture certification in 2006 and moved back to Oklahoma in 2007.  Heather completed her canine rehabilitation and physical therapy training from the University of Tennessee in the spring of 2010.  Heather completed her veterinary food therapy certification from the Chi Institute in June of 2010.  Her family includes a loving husband, Dustin, 3 beautiful daughters and one handsome son Madison, Keira, Isabella and Grayson as well as 5 furry children: Ruby, Chloe, Sierra, Simba, & Mushu.
